Geraldine Fauville

Dr. Géraldine Fauville is an Associate Professor at the Department of Education, Communication, and Learning at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. With a dual background in marine biology and education/IT, her research explores how virtual reality can enhance marine education and foster ocean and environmental literacy. Her current work examines the impact of underwater virtual reality, where users experience a 360-degree dive video in a VR headset while being physically immersed in water. She is also the co-PI of OceanSpeak, a project that integrates virtual reality and artificial intelligence to enable users to engage in interactive discussions with AI-driven characters and deepen their understanding of marine environmental issues.
